Sustainable steps can be everything from keeping our houseplants happy to marching in a climate change rally. Our t-shirts celebrate the whole range. If we all choose the steps that work for us, and spread the messages we’re passionate about, our collective result will be pretty damn great. So dive into these designs, use them as inspiration to do something different today, and if a t-shirt makes you want to wear it, put it in your cart. (Or fill out the custom form if you’d like a design on a different product.)

low-key saving the planet

This line is all about the casual, everyday ways we can be part of the climate solution — no virtue signalling required. From the thrifting raccoon to the dancing cat with plants, you’ll likely find a sustainable step that speaks your language.

eco-divergent thinking

This is a celebration of people who think outside the box — whether their wheelhouse is scientific, creative, social influence, or other — to bring their original thinking to the table and come up with climate solutions.

zero carbon travel

slightly tongue-in-cheek, since we don’t normally actually travel long distances this way, this line is about the really fun ways we can recreate in nature without burning fossil fuels as we go

political punch

a punch bowl for the (as yet) uncategorized, from our OG “plot twist: we fix this” to the confused consumerism baby wolf I’ve been wearing a lot of lately

why? by Devon

Designed by my daughter, this series shows baby animals in their natural habitats staring out at us and asking why?

Middle Powers

This is fan fiction in t-shirt form, inspired by Mark Carney’s speech in Davos, inviting countries who aren’t superpowers to collaborate in the face of current chaos to create a world that works.

Climate Hero In Training

This collection was born when my cousin in Toronto had a baby girl, and my mom asked if I could add some sustainable steps for babies that she could send as a gift. I don’t like to get too political with kids’ clothes, but the images of baby animals setting off to save their habitats from climate change appealed to me.

Sustainability has a lot of moving parts. Every t-shirt in our lineup uses ethically sourced cotton and is produced in factories that have REACH and/or WRAP accreditation. All of our t-shirts are printed with eco-friendly inks and achieve OEKO-TEX certification, which means they don’t use chemicals that are harmful to human health, and are printed on demand to reduce waste.

Sustainability is also about being budget-conscious. This unpredictable economy makes it essential for most people I know to be careful about household spending. With this in mind, we’ve sourced a variety of fabrics — all of which can be interchanged with all designs — at a variety of price points.

Mostly, we stick with 100% cotton, but in cases like hoodies where polyester is blended in for plush softness, or baby onesies where the snaps are made of plastic, it’s always recycled. Otherwise, it doesn’t make our cut. Pure cotton is our first choice because when you wash it, it doesn’t leach microplastics into the ecosystem. But the reality is that sometimes we have to compromise — and we can live with recycled polyester and plastic in those cases.

We are always on the lookout for more sustainable, budget-friendly options to add to our lineup, including the options below that we’re just now working on getting our designs onto. (Some of them are up already; most are in the works and will be launching soon.)
